Chris
Tyner is an Evansville native that has been active in community theatre
for over 20 years. A 1990 graduate of North High School, he attended
both Ball State University and the University of Evansville and
performed professionally in Cocoa Beach, Florida and around the
Tri-State. He is a founding
member of three tri-state musical programs. He appeared as "Harold Hill"
in the first EVSC Summer Musical, The Music Man in 1989 and
"Cornelius Hackl" in Hello Dolly the following year. In
Warrick county, Chris has been the choreographer for the WCSC Summer
Musicals since the inception of the program in 1997, most recently
choreographing Cats in 2006. Chris also appeared as "Will" in
Oklahoma for the first Henderson Community Theatre Musical
production, which he then went on to direct their next two productions,
Hello Dolly and Anything Goes. Chris made his Civic Theatre debut in
The World Goes 'Round in 1995 and since then has performed the duties of
Choreographer, Director, Technical Director, Scenic Designer, and
performer in over 60 productions around the tri-state, and has most
recently been the Drama Director for his Alma-mater, North High School
for the past four years. Chris has been a private performance instructor
since 2003 and now leads Civic Theatre's NEXTWAVE Program into the new
millennium.
