BE A SUPERHERO THIS SUMMER!

What child wouldn’t love to leap tall buildings with a single bound, swing between sky-scrapers on a rope, or travel through outer space on a surf board? This summer, with Civic Theatre’s Basic Actor Training Camp at the Children’s Museum of Evansville (cMoe), your kids will use the greatest power of them all, Imagination, to do just that!

Campers will get to create their own unique superheroes, designing their costumes, painting their faces, creating their own origins and constructing their own super-teams with all their new camp friends, culminating in a special presentation at the end of the week to show off their powers in a great performance of their own creation!

Students will learn techniques in character development, improvisation, teamwork and cooperation, basic stage direction, movement and projection, creative writing, mask making, costuming, and make-up.

We will approach each group with fun and exciting material that will make them laugh and give them a chance to play all sorts of fun characters, showing them that using their imagination can create wonderful experiences for themselves and for their audience too!

What is the NEXTWAVE?

The Evansville Civic Theatre has had a long, rich history of providing quality entertainment to the community. But a theater is only as good as its performers. We have been very fortunate to showcase many talented local performers and have built a wonderful family of theater enthusiasts within our community. We here at ECT would like to see that family grow. Enter, ECT - NEXTWAVE. The NEXTWAVE is the banner of our new Educational Program. NEXTWAVE will offer classes and productions to students of all ages, with the hope of educating individuals in the art of theater and in essence, training the next generation of great Civic Theatre performers.

NEXTWAVE PRODUCTIONS:

ECT: NEXTWAVE Productions will present exciting opportunities for young actors this season. Both of the scheduled performances will be directed by resident Director of Education, Christopher P. Tyner and further information about these projects can be obtained by contacting the theatre.
